Connecting a custom domain

Every Faciotech site automatically gets a *.builder.faciotech.com preview subdomain — perfect for sharing while you build. When you're ready to go public, attach your own domain in one of two ways.

Option A: domain registered with Faciotech

If you registered through us (or have an existing Faciotech-managed domain), it's one click:

1. Inside the editor, click Settings → Domains.
2. Click Attach Domain.
3. Pick the domain from the dropdown (only domains in your Faciotech account appear).
4. Wait ~2 minutes for SSL to issue. Your site is live.

Option B: domain registered elsewhere

If you registered at Namecheap, GoDaddy, eNom, ResellerClub, or another registrar:

1. In the editor: Settings → Domains → Attach external domain.
2. Type the full hostname (e.g. example.com or www.example.com).
3. We give you two records to add at your registrar:
   • A verification CNAME (proves you control the domain)
   • An A record pointing at our hostname
4. Add both at your registrar.
5. Once DNS propagates (usually 5-30 minutes), come back to the Domains tab and click Verify.
6. We issue SSL automatically and flip your site live.

What you get for free

Every connected domain includes:

• Free SSL certificate (auto-renewed every 60 days; you do nothing)
• HTTP → HTTPS automatic redirect
• www → apex redirect (or apex → www, your choice)
• DNS-level analytics integration (works without cookies)

Free domain on annual plans

If you're on Creator or above billed annually, your first year of one of these TLDs is free:

.com .net .org .me .info .biz .africa .com.gh

Renewal at standard rates after year one. Check the pricing page for current rates.

Troubleshooting

Symptom	Likely cause	Fix
"DNS not resolving" stuck >1 hour	Old A record at registrar still pointing elsewhere	Remove old A records, leave only the one we gave you
"SSL pending" stuck >10 minutes	CAA record at registrar blocking Let's Encrypt	Add letsencrypt.org to your CAA record (or remove the CAA entirely)
Site loads at https://example.com but not at www	Missing CNAME for www	Add CNAME www → example.com at registrar
Apex (example.com) vs www (www.example.com) confusion	Either works — pick one as canonical	In Settings → Domains, set your preferred canonical

Switching domains

Switching is fine. We don't redirect the old domain automatically (you'd need to do that at your DNS), but your site is happy to serve traffic from multiple domains simultaneously.
