What is an academic website?
An academic website is a personal or group website that presents a researcher's work — publications, research, teaching, CV and contact details — on a domain the researcher controls. Unlike a university profile page, it stays with you when you change institution and is built to be found when people search your name.
Why do I need an academic website if my university gives me a profile page?
University profiles are usually one paragraph in a fixed template, and they disappear or break when you move. Your own academic website gathers your publications, projects, teaching and talks in one place, is written in your voice, and is what hiring panels, collaborators, journalists and funders find when they look you up.
What happens to my website if I move to another university?
Nothing breaks. The website and its domain belong to you, not your institution, so your address, links and search rankings move with you. You simply update your affiliation.
Can you import my publications from ORCID or Google Scholar?
Yes. We build your publications list from your ORCID record, Google Scholar profile or CV, with links to each paper. On the annual plan we add new publications whenever you send them to us.
