Open a new POS session
POST/pos/sessions/open
Opens a new cashier session on a specific register with a declared opening float. If the authenticated user already has an open session, the request is rejected and they are redirected to the existing session. On success, a session number is generated and the user is directed to the checkout screen.

opening_float | number | Yes | Cash amount placed in the till at session start, used to calculate variance at close. Minimum: 0 |
notes | string | No | Optional notes about this session (e.g. handover remarks). |
