Domain Registration Policy
Last updated: February 9, 2026
1. Domain Registration Process
Faciotech provides domain name registration services as an accredited reseller through ICANN-accredited registrar partners. When you register a domain name through our platform, you enter into a registration agreement with us and, through us, with the applicable registrar and registry operator. The registration process requires you to provide accurate contact and administrative information, select a registration term (typically one to ten years), and complete payment. Domain registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. We cannot guarantee the availability of any domain name until the registration is confirmed by the relevant registry.
2. ICANN Compliance
For generic top-level domains (gTLDs) governed by ICANN, Faciotech and our registrar partners comply with all applicable ICANN policies, including the Registrar Accreditation Agreement, the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP), and the Transfer Policy. Registrants of ICANN-governed domains have specific rights and responsibilities as outlined in the ICANN Registrants' Benefits and Responsibilities document, which is incorporated into this policy by reference. For country-code top-level domains (ccTLDs), the policies of the relevant national registry authority apply in addition to this policy.
3. Registrant Rights and Responsibilities
As a domain registrant, you have the right to:
- Register a domain name for an available term, subject to registry rules and this policy.
- Access and update your domain's contact information at any time through your client portal.
- Transfer your domain to another registrar of your choice, subject to applicable transfer restrictions.
- Renew your domain before its expiration, subject to registry availability and our renewal terms.
- Cancel your domain registration, understanding that registration fees are generally non-refundable.
As a registrant, you are responsible for:
- Providing accurate, complete, and current registration information (including your legal name, address, email, and phone number).
- Promptly updating your registration information if it changes. Failure to maintain accurate WHOIS data may result in domain suspension or cancellation.
- Responding to verification requests. ICANN requires registrars to verify registrant email addresses. Failure to complete verification within the specified timeframe may result in domain suspension.
- Renewing your domain registration before expiration or ensuring auto-renewal is enabled and payment methods are current.
- Ensuring that your use of the domain name does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others.
4. WHOIS Information
Domain registration requires the collection and publication of registrant contact data in the public WHOIS database, as mandated by ICANN for gTLDs and by applicable registry operators for ccTLDs. This data typically includes the registrant's name, organisation, address, email, and phone number. Faciotech processes WHOIS data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws, including compliance with the ICANN Temporary Specification for gTLD Registration Data and its successors. Where the Registration Data Access Protocol (RDAP) is implemented, WHOIS queries are served through that system.
5. Domain Privacy / ID Protection
We offer domain privacy (also called ID Protection or WHOIS Privacy) as an optional add-on service for eligible domain extensions. When activated, the privacy service replaces your personal contact information in the public WHOIS record with proxy contact details. This shields your name, address, email, and phone number from public view while ensuring that legitimate communications still reach you through forwarding. Domain privacy does not exempt you from providing accurate registration data to us and the registrar. We may be required to disclose your actual registration data in response to valid legal processes, UDRP proceedings, or law enforcement requests.
6. Domain Transfers
6.1 Transfers In (to Faciotech)
You may transfer existing domain registrations from another registrar to Faciotech. To initiate an inbound transfer, you must unlock the domain at your current registrar, obtain the authorisation (EPP/auth) code, ensure the domain is not within 60 days of its initial registration or a previous transfer, and disable any WHOIS privacy that may block transfer approval emails. Inbound transfers typically extend your domain's registration by one year from the current expiration date. Transfer processing usually takes five to seven days but may take longer depending on the releasing registrar.
6.2 Transfers Out (from Faciotech)
You may transfer your domain away from Faciotech at any time, subject to ICANN's transfer restrictions (e.g., the 60-day lock after registration or a change of registrant). To initiate an outbound transfer, unlock the domain in your client portal and retrieve the EPP authorisation code. We will not charge a fee for outbound transfers, and we will not obstruct or delay legitimate transfer requests. If we do not receive a response to a transfer request within five calendar days, the transfer will proceed automatically per ICANN policy.
7. Domain Renewal
Domain registrations must be renewed before their expiration date to maintain active status. We send renewal reminders by email at 60 days, 30 days, 15 days, and 1 day before expiration. Clients may enable automatic renewal through their client portal, in which case we will attempt to charge the payment method on file approximately 14 days before expiration. It is your responsibility to ensure your payment method is valid and funded. We are not liable for domains that expire due to failed automatic renewal attempts caused by declined payments or outdated billing information.
8. Grace Periods
8.1 Renewal Grace Period
Most domain extensions offer a renewal grace period after expiration, during which the domain can still be renewed at the standard renewal price. The length of this grace period varies by extension, typically ranging from 0 to 45 days. During the grace period, the domain's DNS may stop resolving, and the associated website and email services may become unavailable.
8.2 Redemption Grace Period
After the renewal grace period expires, many registries place the domain into a redemption period (also called the restore period). During redemption, the domain can be recovered, but a significantly higher redemption fee applies in addition to the standard renewal fee. The redemption period typically lasts 30 days. Redemption fees vary by extension and are set by the registry; we pass these through at cost plus an administrative fee. After the redemption period, the domain is deleted by the registry and becomes available for registration by anyone.
9. Domain Disputes (UDRP)
Domain name disputes involving gTLDs are subject to ICANN's Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP). Under the UDRP, a trademark holder may file a complaint with an approved dispute resolution provider alleging that a domain name is identical or confusingly similar to their trademark, that the registrant has no rights or legitimate interests in the domain, and that the domain was registered and is being used in bad faith. If a complaint is filed against a domain registered through Faciotech, we will notify you at the email address on record. You will have 20 calendar days to submit a response. We will comply with the decision of the dispute resolution panel, including transferring or cancelling the domain as directed. For ccTLDs, the dispute resolution procedures of the applicable national registry authority govern.
10. Prohibited Registrations
You may not register or use a domain name through Faciotech for any purpose that violates our Acceptable Use Policy, applicable law, or the policies of the relevant registry operator. This includes, but is not limited to, domain names registered primarily for the purpose of selling to a trademark holder (cybersquatting), domains used for phishing, fraud, malware distribution, or other malicious activities, and domains that infringe upon the intellectual property rights of third parties. We reserve the right to suspend or cancel any domain registration that we reasonably determine to violate these restrictions, with or without prior notice.
11. Domain Pricing
Domain registration, renewal, and transfer prices are published on our website and are subject to change. Price changes for new registrations and transfers take effect immediately upon posting. Renewal price changes are communicated at least 30 days before they affect upcoming renewals. Prices for premium and reserved domain names are set by the relevant registry and may differ significantly from standard registration prices. All domain-related fees are charged in the currency selected in your client account, with exchange rates applied as described in our Terms of Service.
12. Refund on Domains
Due to the nature of domain registration, domain fees are generally non-refundable once the registration, renewal, or transfer has been processed at the registry level. If a domain registration fails due to a technical error on our part, we will issue a full refund. New gTLD registrations may be eligible for a refund within the Add Grace Period (typically five calendar days from registration), subject to registry support for the grace period and minus any ICANN fees. Refund requests should be submitted to support@faciotech.com with your domain name and order reference.
