Updating nameservers or DNS records is sometimes necessary when moving a domain to Faciotech or configuring custom services. Nameservers tell the internet which DNS service is authoritative for your domain. If your domain is registered with another provider you must log in to that provider’s panel to change the nameservers to those assigned by Faciotech (for example ns1.faciotech.com and ns2.faciotech.com).
### Changing your domain’s nameservers
1. Log in to your domain registrar’s control panel.
2. Navigate to the domain management or DNS management area【743052698070694†L125-L131】.
3. Locate the nameserver fields. They may be labelled “NS records” or “Nameservers”.
4. Replace the existing nameservers with the Faciotech nameservers listed in your welcome email. Enter at least two nameservers (e.g., `ns1.faciotech.com` and `ns2.faciotech.com`).
5. Save or apply the changes. Nameserver changes may take up to 24–48 hours to propagate across the internet【743052698070694†L125-L131】.
### Managing DNS records via cPanel
Once your domain’s nameservers point to Faciotech you can manage individual DNS records using cPanel’s Zone Editor.
1. Log in to cPanel for your hosting account.
2. Under the "Domains" section, click **Zone Editor**.
3. Locate your domain in the list and click **Manage**【45098409583143†L378-L432】.
4. To add a new record:
- Click **Add Record**.
- Choose the record type (A, CNAME, MX, TXT, etc.).
- Enter the name, TTL and value. For example, an A record points a domain or subdomain to an IP address, a CNAME creates an alias and an MX record specifies the mail server【45098409583143†L378-L432】.
- Click **Save**.
5. To edit an existing record:
- Find the record in the list and click **Edit**.
- Update the value and click **Save Record**.
6. Repeat these steps for each record you need to add or modify.
